ok so i have a 95 240 with a KA-T..I stripped the VC screws so had a mechanic fix that and attempt to fix my timing .... anyway....this is my problem/symptoms..... car starts right up and idles fine but has a slight vibration..you can see the wheel kinda shaky and my shifter shaky...after a while of idling the car kinda bogs down when i touch throttle....it tries to die...when i drive it the car has no power..backfires sometimes...has no acceleration at all... is there anything or a list of things i should check? the mechanic has my dizzy rotated all the way right and i know thats not how its supposed to me...i could never get it stabbed correctly following all the guides smh....i have the tune, bigger injectors and blow through set up...car has been the biggest headache mostly because i barely have time while playing college ball

so overview of my problems:
shaky idle/i can see the engine vibrating more than it should
no power
with the car on i unplug the MAF and the car goes into limp mode, when i go to plug it back in with car on the car shuts off (is that normal?)
boggs down,
almost feels like it revs up while driving but car doesn't push like it should
dizzy turned all the way to the right..
also i have a type rs greddy bov but makes no noise (normal) I'm just hopng thats functioning properly
when i rev up my temp gauge drops down
turbo is really loud and you can hear it whistle when i move around...open down pipe....is it supposed to be that loud even when barely moving...or could it be a turbo problem..

thanks guys :( :text-search: (i know I've been but so lost and stressed) :?:

engine is built not stock cp pistons .030 over ect..s14 block, s13 head stock fpr, gismo 555cc injectors, z32 maf blow through...any questions ask

Damn, if your mechanic has the dizzy cranked to one side, I'd question his qualifications. Sounds like he either doesn't understand "advance" or your timing chain has slipped. That just isn't right.

So have someone else, CHECK YOUR TIMING ! IF ITS OFF BY JUST A COUPLE DEGREES YOU HAVE A PROBLEM. CHECK AND SET YOUR TIMING ! ;)

If your car is out of time, and it's backfiring, you can get a detonation issue which can crack a spark plug or even worse a piston. Check your plugs, look at them closely, if any part of the porcelain part of the plug looks cracked or just one side looks burnt, replace it.

Also, you should NEVER unplug your MAF when the car is running, you can throw trouble codes without the CEL coming on. Think about it, even if the MAF was just working halfway, when you unplug it, you just disconnected it from the CPU and now it going to make the engine run worse.
