The 240SX will be more competitive for the 2010 SCCA Solo II Autocross season in the G Stock class. The Mini Cooper S which dominated the class is being bumped up the the D Stock class.

The Pax rating for G stock is also being changed from 0.821 to 0.812. That basically means the adjusted time on a 60 second run would move from 49.26 seconds to 48.72 seconds, an extra half second off the time. It is the largest handicap increase being made, most other classes are having their handicaps decreased.

The 240SX won't become the class leader, the Hyundai Genesis will probably take that spot but locally and regionally we can still take a shot at the gold. Lets get ready for 2010

about fuggin TIME. Ive been working on trying to beat the Mini, I was getting close too. Bout 2.5 seconds off. Was about to upgrade to some sticky tires, Im sure that woulda put me over the top

Where are you getting this info though? I tried to search. No dice.

Not only that, what makes you think, that the genesis will replace the mini. A stock Genesis coupe gets 210 HP, vs the 155 stock 240sx. A gross power difference. Even the stock Cooper S at 175 HP, with the hella tiny wheelbase, Its no wonder we was gettin spanked

Search google with "SCCA 2010 PAX", it should bring up several pages with the PAX ratings for the upcoming season. After looking at the new numbers I did some calculations and came up with those values.

In the November 2009 issue of SportsCar the article with the results of the National runoff mention that the G Stock turnout was very light this year because of the announcement that the Mini S was being bumped. Many drivers either decided not to show up or sold their Minis before Nationals.

I'm thinking the Genesis Coupe R is going to be one of the cars to beat because they are scoring well at regional events and the fastest non-Mini S taking 7th at Nationals was a Genesis Coupe. The SRT-4 and Cobalt XS also score well so they have a shot too.

Another thing to mention: although most of the classes got decreased handicaps there is some major shuffling going on, alot of SS got bumped down to A Stock and some A stock got bumped down to B Stock. I haven't compared raw times of the bumped cars yet so I'm not sure how it will work out or if the RX-8 is going to lose its domination of B Stock to some of the former A Stock cars.

This is some serious good info, thanks for this. I should start to get more into it for 2010. I just dont see how the 240sx can compete with a 60HP power difference against a genesis, with the smaller wheel base too. Its ridiculous. There must be something that Im missing. Prolly driver skill. I'll definitely try to show up at some events

2010 should be an interesting year for G stock

Some new info on the 2010 PAX, I found an analysis on another forum that reached similar conclusions. Also, someone did a bar graph to analyze the impact from some of the class shuffling that went on.

I'd hope so or they'd be cheating.
