240sx idiling problems

my 240 starts up fine has a rough idle after i drive a very short distance my rpms start to not let me go above 3000 till eventually i cant go anywhere at all but after i let it cool down for a few hours i can drive it again for a few min and it happens again i dont understand why this is happening any ideas

coolant temp sensor circuit malfunction..... either the harness or the sensor itself
