Do You Understand How Engines Work? The Role Of Everything In The Engine Bay?

Might Wanna Do A Little Research Before Setting Off To Building A ~400hp Motor.

I'm No Expert, But After A While Of Lurking In Tech. You'll Pick It Up.

seriously dude

just read all the threads in gen chat and tech

ok at LEAST read the last 10 pages of threads....

no one here is going to spoon feed you answers

oo and i dont think two turbos are necessary for a 2.0L engine..... i have heard of a twin charged sr20 thou.

but my guess? your another one of the all talk car guys who bought the car because you think it will make you cool, or get chicks. It will do neither. If your asking these questions you probably dont have the 1. know-how or money to pull it off

iight im done

Sig material.

These guys are actually being kinda nice, so if your gonna get used to Nissans and NICO then calm it down with the bad comebacks. They have every right to flame you at this point of the game. From what I am reading you want to build a drift car, out of a 1500 dollar shell, and you dont wanna spend too much money.

#1. U can pick up a relatively clean s13 (89-94) hfastback or coupe for around 1500.#2. Unless your planning on using used or cheap aftermarket parts, drifting isnt at all cheap.#3. You need to do a little of your own research as far as what is out there in the aftermarket for your car, and make your own educated decisions as to what parts, etc... u may need. #4. NICO is a place where car owners and drivers, and technicians meet and post their issues, problems, pics, builds, and general information about the cars we know and love.#5. There is alot of information you are gonna need to pick through and take in, from what I read of your posts, you have alot to learn about these cars. Dont worry, I didnt know too much about Nissans either when I bought my first one, but once you start getting into them, you wont be disapointed. #6. MOST IMPORTANT: If you are not mecanically inclined, then forget about doing DRIFTING. Drifting is not for the shallow pockets or the feint of heart (lil play on words there). You ARE going to break things and there is a VERY good chance you will hit stuff.

My suggestion is to find a clean shell 90 and up, already equipped with a KA24DE and a manual. Then drive it and check out some drift events. Dont remember where your from but check out wheretodrift.com and there are lots of events to check out and that the best place to get information for yourself, imo.

Good luck and happy drifting.

Dude, instead of making your first impression a bad one, just search. READ the stickies above this stupid thread, with the big flashing SEARCH at the top of the page you wouldn't think this stupidity would have been covered not once but a billion times? As far as around $5k (estimated because you said 1.5k for a car then swap, about 2k, then another 2k) for a 400hp SR, your either crazy or a god. When you get an SR, if you actually do, you will see what adds up to even put the engine in the car. Oh and the SR isn't the crazy powerhouse all you fan boys make it out to be. Do your homework little boy.

ok... look im just tryin to get to a higher level of understanding here.. I worked as an apprentice mechanic for about 4 months... i know its not much i just walked in no pay just for experience... I read about how engines work and i understand the components... then i got hands on experience doing routine maintenance..

I befriended the guy that owns the garage and they will let me use their garage to do any installations i need as well as connects to get the equipment i need such as the engine..

My price range i feel is possible but its hard to talk to them becasue they on another level but it seems they in a different playing field when it comes to history and stock vehicles to drift and customizable cars... Basically straight up if i bring him the parts we will install them together. Im 21 by the way so please.. When u say search search search.... What the hell do i search for ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????

IF YOU HAVE A QUESTION SEARCH IT. MORE THAN LIKELY ITS BEEN COVERED A MILLION TIMES.

That is what you search for, questions. The result will most likely be an answer.

wow, searching here is just like searching google. what do you want to know about? sr turbo upgrades? type in "sr20det turbo upgrade" guaranteed you'll get at least a few dozen results (depending on what search engine you use). coilovers? type "240sx coilovers". it's not rocket science. we don't mean to be harsh, but you came off quite pompous asking us to do the work for you. you want something to suit your needs, who can figure that out better than you? chill out and get off your high horse.

Thats the thing, U have to search to figure out what U are looking for. Normally, quality is followed by a higher price. And no there isnt really any cheap suspension parts to buy, U have to pick and choose and take a chance just like the rest of us.

Better brand names are:cusconismoteinjic majic

But they all sell different suspension parts to serve a certain purpose.

And when we say search....THERE IS A BIG BUTTON AT THE TOP OF THE SCREEN THAT IS LITERALY BLINKING AND IT SAYS SEARCH. Thats where we are asking you to search. Not google or yahoo that will give you a million brand names and where to buy them. There are countless threads on this forum that will help you wonders. Until you help yourself. You cant ask anyone else. AND GET OFF YOU HIGH HORSE, Your first day on here and your telling people to chill out when your clueless. I'm done helping you kid. Hit the search button and ask it a question or type in a key word and sift through the countless number of threads about that subject. Yea, there might be a few that wont pertain to your exact question, but you will have to do some reading.

Yea, sorry but you fail for street drifting. Thats not recomended nor is it endorsed by NICO. Just thought you should know before you start a thread about drifting on the street or anything like that. KEEP IT ON THE TRACK, or dont talk about it on here, and god forbid if you hurt someone on the street or yourself, we dont wanna even hear about it because you will get flamed way worse than this thread. Just some advice.

And just to give you an idea of how much your gonna need to spend....I have more than 10,000 into my car and it gets beat up. Drifting isnt easy on cars. I also am not finished, hell I dont even have coilovers yet. I still have cheap springs and kyb agx shocks. Like I said before. Not for the guy with shallow pockets or the feint of heart.
