i took a chance; i almost bought it... all the things you mention also scare me but for 4k i almost said f*** it, i'm going for it. i kind of regret not doing it but i don't want to buy a pos and on the other hand, i figure i could resell for 4k if i am not satisfied. i really should be saving money for college but i miss my 240 too much and i am really passionate about drifting. gahhh decisions.Veriest1 wrote:The add is very poorly written. Going by your description it sounds like he just threw parts at it hoping they would work and when they didn't work like he thought they should he decided to sell instead of fixing the little things. Do a compression check if you're really interested but if he can't get the exhaust right before he sells there's no telling what gremlins are in the turbo system.
Either way you're going to have to do work... Buy a cheap S13 with a blown motor, swap in an SR and be happy. At least then, you'll know what's going on with it.240sx_Guy wrote:

sucks to here about all the bad luck. yep im from xceed, idk any event this year yet other then the normal aspec events (witch im going to this year) and i think there doin the nissan dealer meets again.240sx_Guy wrote:you are xceed correct? your sn sounds familiar. \after the bmw i got a bmw and then a q45 for winter; the q45 blew a rod on the second day i had her, so i parted and scrapped her. i still have my second bimmer but she will be gone in the spring to the highest bidder.
Well if you don't mind fiddling with it a bit go back, check the compression, raise the ride height, and drive it home. Or it might be a better idea to take him up on the offer of trailering it and sort the problems out before driving it to far. I'd be ready to drop a grand or so into it though.240sx_Guy wrote:

a lot of little things threw red flags that scared me away. i am still interested and i still have the money if y'all are interested in bringing it up here. honestly there was no way with how low the car was to drive it home. michigan does not have the kindest roads and i am sure the lip or even the whole bumper would have been gone by the time i got home.seXydrifter wrote:just so happened to stumble across this thread and find it a little funny.. this is my buddy's s14 you were at my house 240sx_guy honestly this car is well worth the $4000 just like any other old car it has its little imperfections but honestly it was nothing to bad to drive you away.. your offer of 3500 was a little ridiculous and on the low baller side.. its understandable as to all the imperfections listed.. the rust only on the rocker panels normal slap a side skirt on there and its not noticeable. frame rails are spotless thats the only thing that really matters. battery its winter time car sat for probably the coldest 5 days of the season so far and he bought a new battery now. turbo lag 70 trim always happens ive always bugged him about having that big of turbo its pointless.. coilovers are decent for the money not top of the line but give the car a nice ride height. the leak in the exhaust is a relatively easy fix. solid motor mounts honestly your the 1st person i ever heard complain about them personally id rather have the solid motor mounts anyday over my engine shaking every which way.. im sorry for this story i typed but just trying to cover everything cuz this car is not a p.o.s. and my friend was pretty disappointment when i showed him this thread but everybody's got their preferences and if this thing doesnt sell before my civic (blue car pictured above) i will be picking it up to keep in the family
The way you say "just slap a sideskirt on there" would make me wonder about the craftsmanship of the rest of the car. Just my $0.02.seXydrifter wrote:just so happened to stumble across this thread and find it a little funny.. this is my buddy's s14 you were at my house 240sx_guy honestly this car is well worth the $4000 just like any other old car it has its little imperfections but honestly it was nothing to bad to drive you away.. your offer of 3500 was a little ridiculous and on the low baller side.. its understandable as to all the imperfections listed.. the rust only on the rocker panels normal slap a side skirt on there and its not noticeable. frame rails are spotless thats the only thing that really matters. battery its winter time car sat for probably the coldest 5 days of the season so far and he bought a new battery now. turbo lag 70 trim always happens ive always bugged him about having that big of turbo its pointless.. coilovers are decent for the money not top of the line but give the car a nice ride height. the leak in the exhaust is a relatively easy fix. solid motor mounts honestly your the 1st person i ever heard complain about them personally id rather have the solid motor mounts anyday over my engine shaking every which way.. im sorry for this story i typed but just trying to cover everything cuz this car is not a p.o.s. and my friend was pretty disappointment when i showed him this thread but everybody's got their preferences and if this thing doesnt sell before my civic (blue car pictured above) i will be picking it up to keep in the family

well we didn't do any work on this car my friend got it the way it stands and craftsmanship is pretty good.. sorry if you take what you quoted the wrong way but that's how i look at it i personally don't care for looks when it comes to a 240 if its gonna be used for drift whats the point in it looking pretty just zip tie a kit on and go but my friend selling the car on the other hand thinks different from me and wouldn't do that i was just putting my 2 cents in as to hide the rocker panel rust if it bothers someone that much..PyR0NiAk wrote:
