240sx Gremlins??

i am about to look at another possible '91 240sx fastback i might buy if everything is ok with it saturday morning... anything i should keep an eye for that are common problems on these years other than the rear hatch spoiler and rust??

blown tc rod bushings, check the rear subframe bushings, pull on the tops of the wheels for wheel bearing play, take a strong magnet wrapped in a piece of felt with you to run along the body looking for non-magnetic bondo spots, look in the spare tire well for water (or the drain plug missing),.

that is all i can think of right now

btw the car is a 91 with a supposed 80000 miles on it.. so the tc bushings might not be a problem

what it does have water in the well.

Your forgeting one very important thing to check for. The leading cause of death for the KA, I would have to say, is the timing chain breaking(Well, thats what happened to mine anyways). Listening while driving it for a rattling like noise. Timing chain replacment can be upwards to $900.

mine's been rattling for about 10k miles 5k of which are at 10psi. lol

^ thats really bad. you realize when that breaks your engine is done? check for frame rust. definately get under the car and if the frame is rusted its a no no. that all i can think of.

Mined rattled for over a year and I didnt think anything of it until it broke and fukced my engine

welll as for the timing chain thing i was gonna drop in an sr.. but i would have to drive the ka for like a month till i can get everything set.. i was looking for things like structural and suspension like the rust under the body....BUT the guy i was supposed to meet w/ this morning hasn't called me yet so i don't know wats goin on! we'll see wat happens when i call him.
