I am going to buy the Greddy turbo kit. It may not be the best but it is smog legal in Cali, which is the important thing.

California doesn't have any restrictions on what you do with an intercooler. For the money the air-air intercooler that greddy sells doesn;t to be that much of a rip off. They did all the R&D on the fitment and crap and it all just fits.

MY other option is going water-air, using a toyota all-trac intercooler.it looks like this

I already have the intercooler and a pump that will work. I would just need a heat exchanger and some piping made.

opinions please

i ahve the greddy intercooler kit on my s13. it fit awesome. bolted right up and looks pimp, lol.

the only thing i didnt like about the kit was that it doesnt come with a hot pipe. this is because the kit can be used with many turbo and manifold combinations. so you'll have to get a hot pipe bent up. but thats not a huge deal.

all in all i like the kit. check out my website, http://www.project-mayhem04.com for pics

Well crap. well anyway the question is still valid.

Air-water or air-air.

I'll just remove it every 2 years

Removing it every 2 years ain't very practical in fact I dought your gonna be able to do it, at least well (as wires are spliced and your gonna need to redo this every 2 years, just seems like to much of a PITA to me)....the fuel rail is also changed making it a huge undertaking to just redo the injectors, as the greddy kit uses a top mount fuel rail where stock is side feed. there is also the Issue of the oil return, your going to need a way to cover it up so misc. **** don't get in there. I'm sure there are a few other things that would need to be changed to be legal but I don't think that this is a good Idea as you would need to reprogram the e-manage for the Injectors and would take longer to set it up to pass smog testing the it does to install the kit. I see huge problems with doing this and don't know that it would be worth your time to do so. Sorry but I have the kit on my car and know all that you would have to undo........ and I don't think you would pass if the laws are that strict there as you would still have modifications done that can't easily be undone. I just don't see this as a good Idea, too much work and alot of room for error. Just my .02, If you have more q's just post em and I'll help as much as I can.Peace,Pat
