What model/year 240SX are these from?

Will they work if I swap in a SR20DET?

That's the HUD cluster out of the s13 coupes. You can use the HUD cluster with the sr swap if it's from a 91+ coupe or if you use the 91+ tach with the 89-90 HUD cluster.

It also has indiglo needles, the normal HUD needles don't look like that, and the back of the tach doesn't say SR20. : )

Yeah I'm looking for a '92~'93 240SX coupe or hatch.

So those gauges only came with the coupe? Can they be put in the hatch? Of course I imagine that for the digital there would be some module installing involved which could get ugly.

I was just curious about the SR20 because I know I have to use the JDM ECM and didn't know that would effect the cluster.

I know this is kind of off the topic from the subject, but what's the difference between the S13 SR20DET Red top and the Black top? Is it just the color of the valve color?

I would think that there would be some kind of difference besides that. Personally, I would prefer a black top because I'm not a huge fan of the color red, but thats just me.

Also, another off topic, but what colors was the 240SX availabe in '92~'93? I have seen burgundy, red, white, black, and silver. Did they ever do something else like a blue?

Thanks for your help guys. I have been to a lot of automotive boards and this is by far the best!

1) Yes, they only came with the coupe. Yes, they can be put in the hatch. No, its not overly complicated.

2) Yes, they can be used with the SR20.

3) There is no major difference between the S13 black and redtops. The Blacktop is newer, it has some minor ecu changes, and some minor finishing changes.

4) If you aren't a fan of the color red, paint your valve cover. Paint it black if you like, or any other color that you'd prefer, its not that hard.

5) The blue is a powder blue, its ugly as hell and extremely rare. Here is a listing of the original stock colors with what color they actually are:

Aztec Red ( Burgundy )Charcoal Metallic ( Grey )Cherry Red Pearl ( Cherry )Misty Blue Metallic ( Powder Blue )Sandstone Beige Metallic ( Goldish )Super Black ( Black )Super White ( White )

Enjoy your day!

I think that the black 240s are badass. I also like anything silver, so I will be looking at those too.

Word of advice to anyone, never buy a white car, they are so hard to keep clean. Then again so is black. Well I guess I'm going with gray then.

In fact I'm off to go look at a gray coupe right now. Later

hey the blue is not that bad, i still might go silver though.

im basically looking for a 240 that doesn't exist! here is my checklist of what i want in the car.

1. power options are good, needs at least pwr windows and doors (HUD is a plus)

2. buy from a state like Michigan or wisconsin where they use sand on the roads because i know in illinois and iowa(thanks dauntt) they use salt. garaged is even better.

3. hopefully silver, black, or blue

4. hopefully under 100k miles. bad motor is good because im doing the sr20 swap anyway.

5. no body work needed

6. 1992-1993 model year coupe or hatch

7. grey or black interior

8. Price under $2500

now if you know a car that fits this description, e-mail me please!

yup, autotrader is the first place I always go.

I just keep my eyes peeled. You know check the classifieds in the paper and check autotrader weekly. Might also look on ebay for something in the area.

Hopefully I can find the car I want by spring time.

So the HUD gauges came in the 91-93 coupes right? (I almost said 94 but according to the blue book, only convertibles were made in 94)

Once you actually find a HUD cluster, how hard is it to install?
