I do not have a key for my 240sx. So I took out the ignition switch and started it by turning it. After that it was running and the switch ended up grounding out on the steering column. I have been trying to figure out what went out. Now the car doesn't start and the power windows are stuck down. Power locks still work though. I replaced the ignition switch and the 75a fuse under the hood. And I even swapped the ECU to see if it made a difference. None of these worked. I am wondering if a relay blew or some other fuse. I checked all the normal fuses though. I am wondering what the green box is on the drivers side fender. Is that a ignition relay? And what is the blue one beside the battery? I really need to fix this so I can put the windows up. Thanks.

I know the Blue relay by the battery is called the interlock relay. Once upon a time my car wouldn't start, so I replaced that and that did it. The way you can test if its that is by placing a wire across the two plugs. Then try to turn it over. The relay is about $18 from autovalue. Hope that helps

hey, I once grounded out a power wire by getting it caught between my clutch pedal and the chassis.... what was weird is I made the fuse unlock and blow so that i could replace it. I had the stereo on and I yanked the fuse out while i had the igniton on and it went POP and i replaced it and it was all good!!

I have a spare one of those blue relays. I will try it next time I can go to the car. It is in the next city. I might just go tomorrow or saturday. I dunno. I am going to be helping a friend pull all the pedals and stuff from a 92 240sx 5spd to do a manual swap on his 97 auto saturday. When I do that I will check out that green box on the drivers fender on the one at the salvage yard. I am tempted to just scrap my KADE and order a SR20det clip soon. It is so tempting. LOL

Well it wasn't the blue relay. So I really do nto know what is wrong. Just some electrical thingie. Is there a ECU fuse or relay somewhere? I wonder if it blew possibly. I did swap the ECU and it made no difference...I might do it again with another though. Ideas anyone? Still trying to figure out what that green box is on the drivers side fender,....
