Measure the fuel pressure and flow rate under load....fuel pump dying?.........as pumps age they draw more current just like all electric motors.

When this happens, check the EGI and fuel relays in the relay box under the hood. They should be the two green relays. You will be checking to see if either of them is hotter than the other relays in the box. Also, have you noticed if the problem occurs more frequently when the AC is on? I am having the same problem recently and these are my symptoms. I am assuming that under heavy load ie.(AC, highway driving) that the fuel pump is weak and not supplying adequate fuel. It is also drawing more amps causing the relays to heat up. Does the car restart after cooling off for a while? I am replacing my fuel pump this weekend. Hopefully this is the problem. Please reply and let me know if your symptoms are similar to mine.
