I have a Nissan 240 SX and I just replaced the fuel pump and my car is still having trouble starting. I changed the fuel filter too all the hoses are on right and secure but when i give it gas no fuel is coming in from the fuel filter to my engine. What do i do? and what do i check?

Can you hear your fuel pump kick on when you first turn on your ignition before trying to turn it over? If not fuel pump, even though new could not be working.

Sorry not much help.

Thanks. Yea I hear it make a noise like a motor of the pump turned on for a second. But i bought it from a Nissan Shop it was pulled out of a old 1990 Nissan and matched the exact same as mine which is a 1989. They tested it and said it worked. So if it Makes that noise that must mean it works wright? What else could it be if I'm still not getting fuel from the pump to the engine?Than you for your help.

either the lines are clogged, the filter is clogged, or it could also be installed backward.

No fuel was getting to the filter or the other hose but when i jacked up the car from the back fuel shot out the hose's but no gas would come out on its own. so I took off the hose leading from the fuel pump to the fuel Line where the gas tank is and fuel kept coming out. So I'm thinking its the fuel lines?? so how do i clean the fuel lines or do I have to replace them?

are you sure when you hooked up the hoses correctly, like backwards or something?

i sure it's not just a fuse somewhere, not the fuel pump.

if there is fuel on one side of the filter and not on the other then that's your problem.

Hey Thank you everybody. : ) I finally got it I had to take off the 2 Fuel lines. and Clean them. The one line that ran from my pump to my filter then to the engine was very clogged I put soap down it then hosed it off for about 15 mins that got all the grease and gunk cleared out. After that It ran Great.

Thank you
