Well I found all kinds of threads on how to program the FOB. They were all for infiniti's. I have a 95 240sx that I need it done to.

I tried the infiniti prcedure and come up with this:

- I get in the car and lock the doors- I insert the key into and out of teh ignition 6 times- the hazards blink after the 6th time

after this I am about lost. The inifiniti procedure says to unlock then lock the door then press "a" button on the FOB within 4 seconds of doing so (to repeat that if more than one remote).

Well after the hazrads blink from the key in ignition I unlock and lock the door and NOTHING happens when I push any of the buttons on the remote.

Is the Nissan 240sx procedure the same and I am not doing somethign right? This is assuming the batteries are good, which they should be. Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks,

PS- I have 2 extra old style remotes and 3 of the new style remotes if anyone needs a replacement....

You might try posting this in the Nissan Online Mechanic, better chance that NISTECH might see it and help you out. He's real good and helpful, and if the instructions were/are in a manual he'll find them.

after the hazards blink press a button on your remote. the lights will blink again to register that remote. AFTER that is when you unlock and lock the doors to program more remotes.

That is definetly NOT working. I have gotten new batteries, tired it both ways, tired to push button before unlock and lock as you suggested AND tried to do it afterward. I cannot get the lights to flash after I hit a butto on the remote. This obviously means that its not registering the remotes... so either they are all broken or somethign else is wrong...

If the driver side door sensor wasn't working correctly woudl this have any effect on programming the remotes?

Thanks a lot for the reply,

once you see the hazard lights flash from putting the key in and out of the ignition are you turning the ignition switch to the on position? that is between the flashing hazards and pushing the button on the remote. I noticed that was not mentioned above and I appoligize. try again

I tried that and it did not work...

What I am trying...1) get in the car and LOCK the doors via door switch2) inserting key in and out until the hazard lights flash twice3) putting the key back into the ignition and turning it ON4) hitting any of the buttons (have tried ALL) on the remote

I receive NO hazard light flash after step 4. Should I wait a certain amount of time after turning the car on to hit a button on the remote? Is the the correct prodedure? I am diong nothing more and nothing less. I can easily get the hazards to flash after the whole key thing, but after that no matter what I do I cant get them to flash again when trying to get it to see teh remote.

Thanks for the help thus far... the local dealer wont help me.

you have it exactly right as long as your not starting the car, just turning the key to the on position.

If nothing is happening either you have the wrong remotes or your module is not seeing the signal.

How do I disarm my factory alarm so i can get a new one put in? I know you cant just take out the smart enter thing and call it a day cause there is a lot that is hooked up to that. Or can I remove it and just make my own kill swith for the clutch position wire? THanks!

You need to remove on of the theft relays and put a jumper in the other so it will start. I think I posted how to do it once before in online mechanic. Give me a bit to research.

Cool man, terminal 3 (orange) and terminal 4 (black w/red stripe) were jumped and all is well...

I found out there was another type of remote. I have 3 different kinds, and I think that I was using the wrong one. I am going to try to track down the proper FOB and try again. If it doesn't work then Ill just get an aftermarket system. I installed a kill switch while I was at it today...

Thanks for the help Nistech!

Hey Nistech, when disabling; can I take out hte smart entry system thing by the drivers side kickpanel and jump those two wires and it will be fine?

After taking out the fuse and jumping the wires (so it starts) the alarm still goes off and acts normal...

I have no idea why since the relay is removed but oh well. My question is I know if i remove the smarte enrtry thing it wont work anymore... if those wires are jumped will the car still start?
