92' 240sx s13 ka20de. New Orleans, car got flooded 5 days ago. the water rose up enough to flood the front seats. not enough to flood trunk or glove box. ive so far pulled carpet and all seats, replaced starter celleniod(may have all ready been going bad), put in a new battery, changed oil(no water droplets seen), and it wont start. i dried the computer with hairdryer also. inside computer there is noticable green corrosion but car is ten+ yrs old and its very humid here. anyhow since doing this work, the starter turns the engine nicely but it wont start up. when i changed the oil it smelled gassy. maybe im not getting spark? this can get expensive without help? any suggestions?

gas in the oil usually means busted headgasket or, more likely, blown rings... but that probably had nothing to do with your flood. If you're not getting spark to the engine now, make sure to double check all your electrical type stuff... distrib clogged up or something who knows? Just follow the plug wires as far as you go with a multimeter and see where it takes ya.

take the hood off and park it in the sun for a few days. It might just dry it out.

More than likely you fried your ecu. Check all your fuses though, both under the hood and in the cab. Check to see what you are missing. Spark? Injector pulse? fuel pump? etc.

Yeah, the ECU is right behind the passenger's side kick panel. If the water rose high enough to flood the seatwells, it's probably toast. Even with high humidity, there shouldn't be corroded stuff within the computer, that's a dead canary.
