240sx fan installation

I have a quick question. I took off my clutch operated fan (a looong time ago) and since I will be going turbo anytime now, I need more cooling. I figured a 12-14" fan would be fine in conjunction with my A/C fan, but when I look bac there the A/C fan covers practically all of the radiator. It is right in the middle, I thought when you added a better fan you used it along with the A/C fan, but it is looking (from the lack of space) like you use ONLY the upgraded fan and trash the A/C fan. So which is it? How do I do this? And If I use only the upgraded fan, do I just attach it to the rad. and use the wires that were originally going to the A/C fan?

well you can do what i did to my RX-7, my friend gave me a 14" electric fan, i zip tied it to the radiator and used a voltometer to find a 12v power source that only had current with the ignition on, which on my rx we happened to splice into a wire for the electronic adjustable shocks, for the 240 i'd pick up a dual electric fan setup and wire it so it comes on automatically with the ignition key. don't use those temp sensors that you can buy they either don't work well or wear out really quick.

So remove the A/c fan and just have the new run constantly?

yeah, thats what I plan on doing too, that way you know your not gonna overheat. Only diff. with me is I got two 12 inchers I plan on using, I guess Im gonna hafta trash my A/C fan, or maybe put it on the front.

hmm... if you put it on the front you'll prolly have to rewire it so it'd blow the right direction
