names jeremy, im new to the forums, i recently got my 1989 240sx back, its gloss black with gold flecks in the paint with glitter gold ofset racing stripes, so you can see why me being a little 17 year old rolling around on this, is my dream come true, the sad thing is my baby is dying, its around 190,000 and i(not my fault) blew a headgasket recently, but its fixed now. ive heard of 240's going a very long time, but its enevitable that one day the world will come to an end as i know it, and if i dont kill myself, id like to know if there are any inexpencive, reliable, common engines

ive heard that a chevy s-10 engine would fit,

but i dont want any like super turbo mod, i just wanna keep my baby going.i go to a technical school that has a auto shop that would do the instalation for free, but i just wanna know if someone could help me out in finding an engine to put in her.

thanks a bunch

You would spend just about the same amount of money if you rebuild your ka to support turbo, as you would a sr or rb swap, but I personally wouldn't rely on a ka boosted (if that is the goal), and you car will be worth more with a sr or rb in it.

I have an 82 Chevy S-10 to haul stuff around, and my advice on using it is, well, DONT! It has absolutely no power what so ever, if i was you, which im not, but i would go to tigerjapanese.com they got good engines for an extremely low price. Good Luck with whatever you decide to do

well, stock the SR has around 205 hp and the RB20 has around 212 hp and I think the RB25 has around 250, so these numbers are a significant difference over the KA but they are no where near unstreetable numbers, the thing most people like about the swaps is the fact that there is alot of potential in these engines, but you can upgrade to fit your needs and desire, but with just a few add-ons and a couple upgrades, you will be putting alot of people to shame

you could always rebuild the KA with high compression pistons, some nasty cams and if you're really ballsy, some ITB's off a bike. Search these forums for the KA with the ITB's. its nasty
