I purchased a '93 hardbody truck with a blown engine and i want to replace the engine. I know that the engine is a ka24e but i guess there are differences between the 240sx ka24e and the truck version. What is the huge difference. And what do i need to do to fit one in? I can pick up a used engine for $300 from anywhere that was in a 240sx but the pickup one at a wreckers is $800.

As well the wrecker is telling me that only certain ka24e engines will work in my '93 because it depends on manufacturing date for the intake and electronics.. i do not get this. is this true. I dont think there was any dramatic changes in the '93 that year.

There are some differences, or at least that's what has been reported here.

The oil sump location is in a different place, the oil dip stick is in a different place.

As far as heads and electrical there is limited factual details that I have been able to find. The serial number thing is true but this is more inline with doing a swap that has ZERO compatabililty issues.

SInce you live in Med-Hat may I suggest you contact Cam at Sunridge Nissan in Calgary(He's my Nissan Parts Guru and will tell you the straight stuff)

his email is [email protected]

Make sure you address it to the attention of CAM in parts.
