not sure how the conversion rate affects the pricing, but one thing I do know is that KBB and NADA are pretty unreliable for pricing 240s. The community gobbles them up quickly when they are for sale, and either modifies them to hell, or neglects and abandons them. Either way the prices fluctuate in about a $2000 range for s14s and s13s.
That is unless you unless you find a car/seller in the following situation:
a) a smoking deal from someone that just wants to get rid of the car
b) a basket case that is so full of issues that no one wants to deal with it
c) a car that has so much rot that it needs a full off restoration
d) a shell
If you dont want to deal with the above issues, the following prices seem to apply, at least in CT for the last 8 or so years that I have been playing with these cars.
a clean running s13 (relatively rust free, mabye some bolt ons, able to be registered legally)
~$2000-$4000 USD
a clean running s14 (relatively rust free, mabye some bolt ons, able to be registered legally)
-$4000-$6000 USD
If $1200 was my budget, I would look for a clean shell and source the motor separately, If you can't afford the down time on the car I would save a bit more and look for a clean s13.
