I have an S13 hatch with no ABS and SR and was wondering.....

What is the specific driveshaft length difference between S13 with and without ABS.

Same thing with S14 and what is the difference between the S13 and S14 driveshafts???

(length only) because I believe the diff mounting bolts are the same for S14 and S13 and correct me if I am wrong that you could interchange driveshafts between the two models.

im not sure about driveshaft length between the s14 and s14, but IIRC, the length between non-abs and abs s13s is about an 1.25", which has never been an issue as far as using a non ABS driveshaft on a car with ABS or with VLSD.

It may not be a problem to use a shorter shaft, But wouldn't it be a problem using a non abs drive shaft on a chassis with abs be a problem, since the shaft is longer? I'm asking because I'm about to purchse a one piece driveshaft and the prices are different, and if i could use the abs shaft(cheaper) without ANY problems then that would save me alot of money.

well the ultimate difference that determines shaft length is actually the VLSD. the VLSD has a longer snout for the ABS sensor in the rear.

ive run VLSDs with the longer snout on my non abs s13 with an SR20DET. a lot of people say the fit is tight, but the difference is hardly noticeable and there are no hazards of using the non abs driveshaft with VLSD or ABS vehicles.

does your car have ABS or not?

if it has ABS or VLSD, either shaft is okay.

if no ABS or OPEN DIFF, longer shaft is what you want.

my brother has a s13 dohc auto, we swapped in a VLSD using the same driveshaft... even tho we had both.... the difference isn't much and will still work
