Hey everyone,I recently bought a 94 240sx with a ka24de,and with small modifications on it.Im really looking forward to getting into drifting with that car.My first event in willow springs will be in less than 2 months, until then i have time to change some things. If anyone can help me and tell what should i upgrade to make it a drift car,or at least what to start it,i would appreciate it alot.Thanks.

+1 on the pics
I would start with making sure the car is up to date on maintenance so you have a good base to build off of. After that, work on your suspension ( coilovers, RUCAS, tension rods etc.)

It would make sense, but it might not be the case..

Anyways to OP, SEARCH. There are TONS of things you can do to set a car up nicely for drifting, but some things are obviously more key than others. Five speed is just about a must, unless you'd like to burn up the transmission and use the e-brake 98% of the time. Some sort of differential, other than an open, is very helpful. For starters, you can just have someone weld your differential as it's cheap and makes sliding super easy. When you're out sliding, try pumpin the tires up to like 60psi; it'll make 'em slip a LOT easier.

Coilovers, welded diff, bucket seat, good clutch, crappy tires, and the will to learn and wreck. Thats all you need for your first season.

its only 2months away, dont upgrade a damn thing.
take the car out just like it is now, make sure its got coolant and oil and gas...and go out and see what happens. save money starting now, after your day of drifting on a stock car you wuill understand better what youll need all on your own.
the usual list is coilovers/rear uppser camber adjusters, welded or lsd rear differential, these things will help you. differential is most important of the 3.
ive heard of people who have qualified in the past with near oem s13's, even with an open diff...most will scoff at that but its happened.

tires only really matter when youve got more power and are trying to be more "competetive" but for now, if you are going to be doing it often, get cheap crappy ones.

Sorry man, But if you have a hatchback with a KA24DE, it's either a 91,92, or 93. IIRC '94 was Only convertibles.
I don't mean to come across as a d!ck, Just trying to help you make sure... If you really do believe its a '94 because of the title or something you may want to check the VIN plates with the VIN on the title.

yea bro ur not the first person to tell me that.I did check the title and there must have been somekind of a mistake.I contacted the previous owner and he said its 93 but by documents in 94 so idk,i guess there was a mistake but that doesnt trouble me.
