Sup all, I have a 1991 240sx and when I close the driver or passenger’s door it makes a rattling noise that bugs the hell out of me! From what I understand this is a common problem , is there a fix ?

Are your windows down or up? Try taking off your door panels and see if you can see anything. Interior noises are a pain. You fix one the something else pops up.

Good luck,

It happens either way but you can see the door shake at the same time

The door shakes? Do you mean the panel? Or the door just shuts oddly?

For example when your car is n jack stands and the door shuts weird becase it is ajar.

Well it looks as if it has about a 1/8 inch of play almost but when the door is shut it’s tight. Maybe I’m mistaken and it is coming from with in the door. I’m wondering if the catch mechanism is worn or something. Thanks for such a fast reply.

Wait when is the 1/8" of play in the door? While it is open?

It seems like there is when the door shuts because it rattles and moves as it just catches but when its shut its tighter then a virgins suit case

The little thing on the striker that the door latch hooks onto has a little plastic cylinder around the metal. Those can crack and fall apart over time. Check to see if that's happened to yours.
