This is actually pretty cool in terms of technical camera junk. The car, and the footage might not be all that great, also the quality of the footage is pretty piss poor, but it all looks very smooth - which I assume is the goal when doing high FPS shots.

NO its not a joke, We dont have a $20,000 dollar camera like they use for tv! we have the best personal high speed camera that you can actually hold in one hand, so the quality isnt going to be there when its down to 420 frames per second or more compared to an average digital camera which only does 30 fps.

you know... you could have just used a regular video camera like a flip or something... there are programs you can download to slow it down and make it smooth too...

you cant slow down 30fps and make more than 30 fps?? and if i played it back at normal speed well that wouldnt look like anything special. just blurred tires and smoke. thanks though (humor me and make a video at 30fps and compare to this 420fps.)

There's no way even a modern generic camcorder would look that s*** quality wise.
Slow-mo is cool, not denying that. But I if I were you guys I would just learn the basics first. Adjusting the f-stop to compensate the confusion most cameras have when shooting white/black subjects would be one of them. Or maybe knowing the quality difference in the different formats available and whatnot.

Trust me when I say a $20,000 won't make up for your short comings, if anything it will just make more apparent.
Crawl, walk, run.

Not trying to discourage you, just remember Rome wasn't built in a day.

well, on affordable high fps cameras, the higher the frame rate the smaller the video has to be in order for it to look awesome. Thats what I've noticed anyway

thats excactly how it works, a 1000 fps video you almost have squint to see it.

thats pretty cool, and it looks just as s*** as any other youtube upload I've seen...I don't see why people on here are always so critical, If you can do better, why don't you post up your awesome HD highspeed footage so we can all enjoy it...or you could just not post anything at ALL.
