Hey guys! Greetings! My name is Bryan Menard, hence the member name. I'm an active member of team-integra.net and I drive a 1999 Acura Integra. I recently acquired a 1992 Nissan 240SX coupe. It's needing some work and I need some information. The guys at Team-Integra have said this is a good Nissan site, so I hope you can help. In any case, glad to meet you guys! Happy to be here!

My 240 has the digital cluster with the HUD. The digital speed readout and the HUD no longer work. The parts are no longer available from the dealer. I've checked everything and I cannot figure out why it's not working. The dealer has never seen a 240 with a digital cluster, go figure.

I searched the threads and couldn't find anything specific. In any case, the rest of the gauges (fuel, tach, temp, etc.) work fine It's just the HUD and the speed readout.

I bought a cluster and HUD off of eBay and I hope it will fix the problem. Can anyone give me some pointers on removing the cluster? I've done it in the Integra, but I'm new to the 240 scene and any advise you guys can give me will be greatly appreciated.

The odometer and trip meter DO WORK, so I'm sure it's not the speed sensor, so was the dealer. I read a post about a speedometer controller from the cluster being broken.

If anyone has experienced this problem before and it's NOT the cluster, let me know what the fix was. Thanks!

i didn't read the faq's so i dunno if this is in there but when you remove the plastic bezel in front of the gauge cluster it comes out nice and easy if you diconnect the two bolts holding the steering column. this allows you to move the column down for easy removal..just a little tip

Someone posted in this thread with a link to a site where their were directions for removing the cluster. Now their post is gone. Why on earth someone would delete the most critical information from this thread, I don't know. Regardless...

I looked in the FAQ section again and I cannot find this link. The site was really good, it was a site that gave specific directions on how to remove the cluster.

I believe the topic was replacing the regular cluster with a 180 km/h cluster. Anyone know?

S13 cluster removal, pop off the panel at the bottom that covers the fuses, the plastic bit that covers the underside of the drivers side. Now feel around towards the base of the steering column, you'll feel 2 bolts, pop them out and the steering column will fall. This will give you access to your cluster. The black part surrounding the column and the cluster (with the buttons for emergency blinkers, defrost, etc should be on that black part) and undo the screws that are sitting around the upper curved portion of the cluster that attaches to the dash. That should remove the parts blocking the way to your cluster. Your cluster should be held in by 3 screws, one at the top and two at the bottom. Take them out and undo the harnesses at the back. There are 3 or 4. One of them will lead to the pod, push up on the pod and it should pop out too, although I forget if theres a screw holding that one in place.
