Ok, so im doing a vq35HR swap into my 240sx (already got the engine and transmission mounted... hehe) and in wondering what i should do for the differential.

I have the LSD from the 350z and id like to mount it in the car... it doesnt actually fit, but I can mod the subframe to make it...

The real problem is the halfshafts... the 350z halfshafts have the same splines at the hub side, but a different bolt pattern at the diff side. 350z has 6 star pattern, while the 240sx has 3x2 pattern.

Interestingly enough, the short shaft from the 350z is about the same length as the long shaft from the 240sx, so i've got one side covered already...

as for the other half... i was thinking of getting a custom shaft made, but thats gonna be like 300 bucks (just the shaft with the correct splines, re-using the CVs)

I was wondering if anyone can think of any other combonation that I could run to get this to work, like, for example 300zx tt or q45 inner shaft with some other outer CV spliced onto it or whatever (300zx tt appears to be the same 6 bolt, and correct length, but the hub side has more splines)

any ideas?

another point to note is that i need a final drive of 3.55 if possible... 3.70 tops...

s15 helical diff might be a possibility as it has 3.69 ratio... seems pretty good actually...

I know you can swap the HLSD into the s13 diff casing, but can you swap over the final drive too? (i dunno if its different pinion, ring, or both)

anyone know where to find a complete s15 HLSD? (not just the helical internals)
