hi guys i just recently installed a new oil seal cause the other one was kinda leaking a little bit so I went on and bought a new one and changed the old one, the thing is that when I applied a thin bead of silicone to the seal to install it, it went through easy but when I rotated the motor with the wrench it kept leaking but this time its not coming from the sides of the oil seal it comes from the center, from the crank so I took the crank pulley out and rotated the motor again, and it comes from the crankshaft not from the hole where the screw goes it's from the arounds. Why is this happening, recently I took the lower front cover to reseal all, the cam cover and the front cover could this have something to do the problem? and it is tight I installed it thr right way.

you may have penched the seal by tightening to much? also you may want to check the mateing surface for burrs, as they will tear the seal or not allow it to seal properly...not sure that will fix your problem but hope it helps

well the thing is that the oil leak is not coming from the surrounds of the oil seal its coming from the inside. from the part that rotates in the oil pump. why is this? the other thing is that when I installed the pulley back in place the leak stopped but if I removed the pulley oil comes out from the matings of the crank and the oil pump area. It can be the seal cause I installed it again and even applied a thin coat of silicone. what could it be?????

The seal seals around the crank pulley. Don't put silicone on it. Thats bad. So yes oil will squirt out if the crank pulley isn't there. But to reiterate don't put silicone on it, the pulley should be able to move freely spinning inside the seal. If you put silicone in there it could have hardened up and made a gap in which oil can get through. So either try to get all the silicone off the crank/inside seal of the seal and/or get another seal.
