hi sorry if this has been covered but ive tried to search this a few times and didnt come up with any results.
I have a silvia convertible (JDM) in australia and coz they were only made 1988-1989 i cant find any parts for them and was wondering if the interior was the same? like i can tell the seat belts are different, but the windows and quarter trims? if so are they avaible to buy from nissan america?
thanks in advance for the help
cheers

Most likely all the rear things are different. The front side windows should be the same as any 240sx/silvia/200sx/180sx.

Being that only about 400 of the JDM Verts were made the best place to find parts would be Japan, but not sure how difficult it would be. For the most part replacement parts are not available for USDM Verts and we have to rely on junkyards, etc.

thanks for the quick reply. Cant find the parts in japan nissan dont make any more. Its going to be cheaper to retrim all the plastic with leather but the part i cant find is the plastic betwen the 2 windows. the car was vandalised when i bout it and theres were both cut. is it difficult to find junk yards selling silvia converibles?

I'm sure it is hard to find the JDM Verts in Junkyards since there were so few. May want to look around for online group of JDM Verts to see if they have had any parts reproduced.

yeah im pretty sure that the USDM 240sx interior can be adapted. My understanding is that the USDM were delivered as coupes and conveted in the us to meet standards. so the seat belts are different, and the soft top is different. but i wonder if the rest of the interior is the same. Is it hard to find USDM verts in junkyards in the US?

They are rare, but can be found.

You can search US junkyards here:
http://car-part.com

They don't list Convertibles specifically, but can just search for '92 - '94 240sx with specific convertible parts. Some may even be willing to ship parts to you.

Don't know who has compared the rear interior but I bet it is quite different due the the tops being different. And the front door panels would be different due to the seatbelt on the USDM door.

If you go to a autobody supply shop you should be able to find something that can work roughly the same. nissan USA wont carry anything specific for the RHD models. If anything, Aus is the best place to look for jdm vert parts as I would assume that half of the ones left are in aus. When i was trying to replace my top a few years back on my jdm vert i found a few places that did work on the tops in aus on nissansilvia.com So I would think that you will find more very owners on there and find out what they did. I knew one guy that added me on skype and he re did lots of the trim stuff down under :)

good luck getting it all. I need to do mine one of these days too.

Damn, Im really not too sure about that stuff. The windows do look the same. The tops are not even comparable. They have a solid frame on the inside. They dont pop up from wind and the rear top cover changes everything. Not sure what the 240 very rear belts look like to compare.

I should just take a video and some pictures for you guys. Ive seen so many people ask about the precise differences so I should just do a video on youtube on the whole thing going up and down in detail along with windows and any other differences. Im swapping in a new engine right now. Once im finished I will do something like that. Within a month, then I'll post it on the forums for you guys. Then you 240 vert guys can let me know if the rubbers look the same on the rear windows :) i'd like to get around to replacing those. Im using the ol, sit on the floor mat after a down pour :P technique lol.
