for anyone that didn't notice already I took that vert top that was shown earlier and I pasted it over a coupe outline that someone had done on houston240sx a while back and then added the universal convertible slogan. Its kinda crappy on account of the outline of the coupe being ugly as **** but I'm working on one that I'm doing over to closer resemble the lines of a vert. but its just for my sig... I mean if someone likes it steal at will (since its more or less a collection of pieces stolen from others).

They look awesome. Since I already have everything lined up, I will be more than happy to take this on as my project. The guy I am talking to now is offering us a really good deal since I am buying in bulk. The price set for right now is $5 for a set of two 8" long white vynil(just long enough to give you a little bit of room to position it on the quarter glass) The first batch of 15 sets comes out on Tuesday. I should be set up to start distributing by the end of next week. If you have any questions let me know so I can ask Brent.

p.s. the $5 is already including shipping, and other expenses.

If I am understanding your question correctly, I have a buddy in town who is going to mass produce them for use in batches of 15 sets at a time. I will cover the costs up front and then distribute them. The only problem is I do not fully understand what all is involved with recieving money through paypal. I belive at that point you acheive "merchant status" and it is no longer free.

From PayPal's FAQ:

Who is required to have a Premier or Business account?

In order to accept credit card payments, you need to have a Premier or Business account. If you would like to have an account under a company or group name, you must have a Business account.

PayPal's three account types are designed to accommodate the different needs of our members:

Personal accounts are reserved for individual use and are designed primarily for people who would like to send payments. Personal accounts may not receive payments funded with a credit card.Premier accounts are for members who will have a high transaction volume, need to accept credit card payments, or would like access to additional features. Business accounts Business accounts include all of the features of Premier accounts, plus the ability to hold the account under a company or group name. Business account holders may give multiple users (such as business employees) different levels of access to the account. Plus, you get a comprehensive suite of solutions for your business, including Auction Tools, Website Payment products, Email Payments, and PayPal as an Additional Payment Option.

So I think the bottom line is that if you want to be able to accept credit cards, you have to pay fees. If you just have the basic personal account, you can accept the automatic deposits from checking/savings accounts and e-checks.

I know I have a checking account hooked up to my PayPal. If everyone just uses their checking/savings or an e-check to send you money, I don't think you'll have to pay any fees.

At least that's my understanding.

Yeah I read that last night. I am going to do a little talking with Paypal to be absolutely sure before I get myslef into money trouble. The deal with the bank accounts is that if you look on your debit card there is a major credit card logo (master card, visa, or discover) These comopanies deal directly with the bank so taht when you make a purchase it goes through the credit card company and then the company bills your bank directly and instantly so that there is no interest to charge. I'm a concierge at a hotel and I have to deal with these on a daily basis. I plan on setting up a seperate bank account, yay for free checking, and then use it solely for this endevor. After taht I will begin taking payments and shipping out decals.

If you open a regular Paypal account they take 3% of all money coming in. You can then transfer cash to your bank account with a couple of clicks.

Yeah, sorry about that. I am out of town on business and like usual i left something at home. I will be back on Monday, so they will be up as soon as i can get them. I might have to up the price a little bit to cover the paypal fee. I didnt know about that. I'm tryin to keep this as affordable as possible. I'm not trying to make a profit, I just want to make sure I have enough to cover everything.

with a digital logo, you can have it put on anything you want as long as you can find someone to make it. you wouldn't even have to mass produce them. on the other hand, they're usually so cheap to make, you end up buying hundreds of them and try to give them away. we had keychains and pens made at the radio station i work at, and we couldn't pay people to take them. granted, we're a crappy campus radio station, so maybe 240sxconvertible.com stuff would move better.

it seems like there's only a few of us on this thread who care much. maybe we should put a poll on 240sxconvertible.com to see which logo people like better. or just have whoever is in charge decide on one. sure, people can put whatever logo they want on their car, but i think it would be good if we got a logo and stuck to it for uniformity. once we have a logo that we want to stick with a while, then it would be a good idea to merchandize it with mousepads, t-shirts, keychains, etc.

just my $.02

I prefer the set with the pillar and boot cover. I'm buying a set just as soon as I know where to send the money to.

If everything goes well, that will be up by Wednesday. I am assuming responsibility for this project so if you have any direct questions for me, email me at [email protected].

Ok, Ya'll have been patient and so here it is. This is the passenger side quarter glass, 20% tint(it looks lighter b/c the top is down and the sun is behind it.) The decal is 8" long, 1.75" tall. I am just waiting on an email back from Hitman, then we're up and running. They are available in any basic color. If you want a custom color, metal flake, or even metalic, chrome or gold; I can get those too, they just cost a lil bit more.

That's fantastic!!!

Nice work.

As soon as you get word from Hitman... Why don't you start a new thread. List the prices, a couple pics, and how to order.

I'm pumped to get a set for myself.
