hey guys, i've been slowly piecing together parts for my 89 hatch (bone stock as of now)and i have decided that I am going to do a type-x conversion on it.

i want to keep it looking classy - no snowplow kits or anything of the sort, and i figured since the 180sx had the type-x styling as a factory option it would be a viable way to increase looks without making it look trashy.

i just recently finished dying my headliner, door inserts, and other assorted fabrics to jet black to go for an all black interior, and am looking for your guys' idea on the outside. i have seen lots of pictures of type-x conversions and whatnot in white (which i think looks super sexy) and a handful in black (also pretty good looking) but I think I want to go somewhere different with it.

then i found this color

its called jetstream blue from gm.

i know its a gm color but considering an lsx swap is in the cars future (already piecing together parts, and its a big upgrade from my sohc right now hah!) i think it might fit the "theme" so to say.

since the 240 body has so much in common with the corvette (very similar body style imo) i think that it will look very good on a 240 as well being painted that same way (black top "cabin" / window area or whatever you want to call it with the body in blue).

but since i've had so many colors floating through my mind, i thought i'd turn to you guys for ideas because i know many of you do not mind voicing your opinions!

anyway i'd like to know what you guys think and thanks for your opinions :]

ok here ya go, from the rockers to the trim line, Lime Green

from the trimline(which should be florescent pink) to the body line to the middle of the door, marbilized florescent yellow

from the body line to the window, do-do brown, with the roof, hatch, and hood white

AWESOME!!!!!

but seriously, that color is HAWT, BUT, you seem to have a pretty good grasp of what you want your car to be so decide for yourself, its your car NOT ours, just make sure your happy with it

personally i would do suspension/brakes, then power, and have a fast turd, THEN looks to finish things up

ah glad to see you guys agree :]

i agree with your guys' statements about it being my own car and to do with it what I like, but its always nice to have another set of eyes to see potential problems and what not, even in painting :P

and ashibah, i am going that exact route. as soon as the next paycheck comes in im getting some new struts and springs (daily driver, so looking for ride comfort over the super stiff coilover route). however for brakes i'm not quite sure what to do yet :[

then engine, then body, then paint. its a long, expensive road haha.

p.s. the wheels on that zr1 i posted rock out loud.

Hey dude. Well white is always my first choice usually & it's what I'm going to paint my coupe, but blue is very nice! I bet it would look really great. Another consideration for you maybe the cost of the pant... it maybe outrageous. I'd call up about it & find out because some just is.

As far as 'the 240 body having so much in common with the corvette'.... um I don't see it. Now the 240 hatch & the Ford Probe... yes!

Good luck to ya & your project!
