240sx clutch noise

I HAVE AN 89 240SX. When i am in gear and i relese the clutch, i hear a squeling-grinding noise coming from the trasnmission. when the car is in nuetral and i press and release the clutch you can just barely hear the same noise but quiter. I dont know what it is. If anybody can help me out i would apriciate.

and it goes away after you have been driving awhile?? That would be pilot bushing if so.

The noise still stays when i slowly release the clutch even when it is warmed up. Thanks for the info though.

does it become nearly non existant in 4th and returns in 5th? it is either internal trans bearings or T/O bearing if the noise stays consistant in all gears I would say it is T/O. If it seems to disipate in 4th gear I would say internal trans bearings.
