240sx cluster question

this guy has a 1990 240sx SE that has had a motor swap from a 92 i think it was a SOHC and he made it a DOHC, he said everything works on the car, the pop up lights, sunroof, etc...the only thing he said doesnt work is the speedometer and tachometer, he said the car he pulled the DOHC motor out of didnt have a DOHC "Cluster" in it so he kept his SOHC in it, what exaclty is a cluster nad is it hard to replace? is it expensive?

he wants 1900 for the car, has 140k on the motor, so...good deal or no? its bone stock cept exhaust and air filter is what he told me. and it has a dent in the front fender..

it will take you about a hour to replace if its your first time.. you can get a dohc cluster for a max of $50 bucks.

and the price isnt bad but i wonder what it looks like and if it has rust issues.

he said no rust, and its maroon...and a hatch.

why did he swap the engine? did he blow the stock one or was it his project that he's bailing on?

As far as I know, spoeedometer should still work. Only tachometer won't work. Correct me if I'm wrong. Here's one on eBay. Look for speedometer goes to 110mph. That's DOHC cluster.

Umm im not actually sure.... i have only seen a picture of the outside of the car. and about the motor, he said it got a rod knock so he just changed everything out.
