Ok so here's the problem.. I want to upgrade the brakes on my 240sx to z32 / r34 brakes, and as far as I know the two calipers are identical (ie, 4-piston fixed vs 1-piston sliding). The other day I bid on some ebay calipers that the seller said were off a Skyline GTS. I ended up winning, and I asked him which size they were, 26mm or 30mm so I would know which rotors to buy, and he told me something I'd never heard of before. He said that they were 28mm calipers, and that he wasn't sure which rotors I needed to use at all. He's obviously not a Nissan guy, and I'm totally stumped. I've enclosed a picture of these calipers.... any help from s13 guys who've done a z32 swap before would be sweet. I need to know asap. Thanks in advance....

Okay, right on. But do those calipers look like q45 calipers? I thought q45 calipers were a 2-piston fixed caliper. I guess what I really need help with is identifying those calipers.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they are from a Z also. The q45 utilizes a 43mm dual-piston fixed caliper, whereas the z32 calipers are 4-piston fixed. I know that these calipers are from a Z - what I'm not sure of what size they are. The guy I'm buying them from claims that they are from a Skyline GTS, and that they are 28mm calipers, which, as far as I know, is incorrect. z32 calipers are two sizes: 26mm and 30mm, right? I don't suppose there's any way to tell without having the physical calipers in front of me, is there?

Take a look at this site if you haven't seen it already: http://importnut.net/300zxbrakeswap.htm

Just wait until you get your calipers and measure them. Rushing things leads to mistakes and other problems.

he probably got that number from the minimum thickness of the 30mm rotor (not the new thickness, which is obviously 30mm), which is 28mm and is stamped on the outter edge of the rotor.

and q45 calipers aren't fixed, they are sliding calipers.
