I'm looking for some blackouts (taillights and front turn signals) for me's 240. I searched the 'net and here, but all that came up was a thread about all red taillights. I've got an '89 Fastback, and any help in locating some would be wonderful.

Thanks, -Doug

I made my own black outs, I didnt use that spary either. I used household static cling tint, I wraped it around my position lights or whatever theyre called (the orange ones on the bumper) and the blinkers. I actually pulled out the light and wraped it all the way around and taped it on with black tape so it would stay on until it was reinstalled. They look awsome, no one ever says much cause u cant see em cause i have a black car and used 2 layers of tint so it matches the car, but when I point it out everyone seem to like it, including myself. And its cheap only $10 for like 10ft or something like that, at lowes or home depot.

Blackouts? Are you talking about like smoke tinting your lights?

well there is a spray you can buy, which is the best bet next to taking off the light and buying black glass for it...

i think the best thing to do is get some LED lights, which are known to be brighter and plug those in along with your blacked out glass...red lights will do the trick

Good Lord, I'm not talking about painting them, I was talking about the smoke tinting... sorry for the mix up. I'm probobly gonna get the spray and do that, but I want to get an idea of what it looks like first. So, again, can you post a pic of them S14-boy?

Oh, and Cyberkreig- most aftermarket car parts stores carry the spray.

Taped off the parts I dont want to paint

Pretty much what ya gotta do to paint them is to go through with the paint and do about 50 trillion really ultra thin layers.

There's also actual lens tinting. I'll pull some things off NWH for that too. :)

"Ever wanted to shade (or tint) your tail lights, or any other lenses, but just didn't know how, or didn't want it to be permanent. Well there's a cheap and easy way to do it.

Materials Needed: * Axius Windshield Tint Strip (i found at Wal-Mart for $3.00!!! ) * Credit Card * Razor Blade

Time: *Depends on Application (my bumper lenses took 1 min. )

Directions:

First clean the lense very well. Then cut out some of the tint for the lense. Apply tint by using a credit card to the lense. using the razor trim off the excess tint. Ta-DA, all done "

"UPDATE : well, i kinda did something wasteful, but it was with good cause...i went throught a carwash with them on (computer driven pressure washer kind) and only one came off the tail lights, So they stick pretty good for me, just take them off if you go throught the car wash...no biggie "

"'Update, it was raining here today and the corners both flew off on the freeway. Bumpers and tails are still on and lookin good. "

That is all. I'm done taking up your bandwidth. :)

Yeah, those are sick. I'm gonna go with the smoke tint if I decide for it.
