Hello guys, i have a technical issues with my 94 240sx convertible automatic transmission. whenever the car is cold (especially) in the morning it makes a really horrible squealing grind noise whenever i shift into Drive or Reverse.

I recently change my transmission oil (Nissan Dextron III) and don't abuse the transmission at all. one thing that boggles me is that my transmission shift gears smoothly but only shifts around first gear (0-10mph) second gear (20-40mph) *depending on my driving and third gear at (60mph) is this normal?

Is it suppost to shift only 3 time? shouldn't it shift 4 times since its a 4speed auto transmission? i really dont' know anything about cars so any input would be much appreciated thank you

it wont shift to 4th till warm. in 4th gear you should be sitting at exactly 2500 RPMS at 100 KM/H (60MPH) in 3rd at that speed you should be somewhere around 3400 to 3600 RPM, not sure
