240sx auto trans shift problems with pics!

in a nutshell my car wont go into 1st gear or o/d.and its a new trans?

ok so my trans completley locked up the other day and a few days b4 i changed it for a known good one, it developed this problem. when i put the car in 1 its in 2nd gear, in 2 position its in third gear and 3rd gear for d also . the weird thing is the linkage is perfect it goes into reverse and park/newtral just fine. all the wires are fine just did a ecu diagnosis and got 34 which is knock sensor but that shouldent matter. the o/d light is out does that matter is it the a/t control unitplease help me

please dot tell me to get a 5 spd i cant switch from auto because my gf will be driving the car+ ive used search key for this so any ideas

You have some nice '40's man. I really don't know what's causing the problem you're experiencing, but my suspicion would be electrical. Do you have an extra trans control unit you could throw in there to check that?
