240sx auto trans problems

1995 240sx SE with A/T. I bought this car being told the transmoission was bad, jumped off the car, because it had set up for 6 months at least, drove it home without a problem. I put about 100 miles on the car that day without a problem. As I was cleaning up the vehicle I noticed a loose battery connection, removed cables and cleaned them reconnected cables. Went for a ride and I have like one maybe two gears, I guess it is in a failsafe mode. It has the P1605 diagnostic code which is a general transmission code. It has to go to the dealer to read the actual code I have found out. I have another good A/T and was going to install it in the car. Last night while beginning the swap I found what appears to be a vacuum hose hanging loose from above the trans. Are there vacuum connections to the transmission??? If so could this be a cause of my problems???
