So I just realized that I've never actually seen an ad for -ANY- 240sx that is running any meats wider than 215 - like I've got 205/15/r50's on my 89 and they seem like pizza cutters next to my buddy's 240z with 235's.

I do a lot of auto-xing and the wider tires would sure help out. Is there a way to put 225's on the front and rear of your 240sx without all kinds of fender well rubbage, strut rubbage and the infamous Mexcali wheel spacer look?

The problem is finding rims with the correct amount of offset to clear the front struts with 225s. The common honda offset is +40 which with 225s will rub the strut. I have been "told" that +38s will clear. I managed to pick up a set of Gram lights 17x7.5 with a 30 offset fronts and 17x8.5 40 offset rears. I have 225/45 Azenis all around to keep it neutral and legal for STS. I can easily fit 245/45 on the rear if I get crazy though. No rubbing, inside or out, and its still slightly sub flush on the front. Yeah, I don't like the white on red either, It reminds me of too many red Civic Si's. Oh well, these are my autocross only wheels.Look at that a__. Yeya!

205/50/15 is way too small for a stock s13 wheel. you need at least a 55 series.

you're better off asking questions like these in the suspension forum... too much speculation out here. +35 or more is not going to be a good offset on probably any wheel you're going to buy.

A customer has NA 300zx wheels on an s13 with 225/50-16 all 4 corners. Stock suspension, and his tires are very close to rubbing on front strut

My 225/50 fronts and 245/45 rears fit fine.

Fronts touch the fenderwell liner on hard turns, but I'm dropped almost 2".

I've got z32 rims with 225's on the front and rear. The fronts had to be spaced out .05" due to rubbing the stock struts.

235 up front, 245/40/17 in back.....i originally bought the fronts for the back, but got the 245's for a good deal. The wide front tires are sexy

I'm running 205/55/15 yokohama avs es 100's up front, 225/50/15 Dunlop SP Sport 8000's in the rear. I love the staggered setup. Anyway, 225 is definitely not too wide, but I don't have much of a traction problem from my lightweight 15" work wheels (17 mm offset) and these tires, and that's at 9 psi from a KAT. I mean, it'll spin the wheels plenty if I drive like an as$hole, but they're predictable tires and they don't break lose unless really provoked. Very good in the rain too, and extremely good grip. I'd love to have wider, bigger wheels (lets say a 16" with 245s in the rear), but I just CANNOT live with the extra rotational, unsprung weight. I had 17" 5zigen typhoons with 235's on the rear, 225's up front, and they were sooo noticeably heavier that I sold them within a month. The car accelerated slower, braked slower, felt sloppier and heavier in the turns, etc etc. Everything's compromised with bigger, heavier wheels, everything except looks, that is. It's a big trade-off in my opinion. 17's look awesome, but 15's feel and perform awesome. And it's not like I don't have the power to back up larger, wider wheels...Anyway, 225's are good I think, especially if you're n/a.

I'm running 235'45'17's in the front on a 40mm offset wheel. On the back I'm running 255'40'17's on the back with the same size wheel.... I haven't had any problems at all. I get pirelli p-zero's from my job at Nissan for free = ) so I experiment a lot with my sizing.

Gladius, Yes!!I dont think those will fit well. theyre an inch wider. They have a higher offset which moves them closer to the struts. I assume the GC sleeves reduce clearance as well.

sizes on tires and the wheels look good, but your offset is horrible, u need about 20mm less or (gasp) bolt on type spacers!
