Post

Hey to all...I just signed on and this is my first post here.

I discovered this site a couple weeks ago and am enthused about becoming a part of the action.

Back in '93, I ordered the first 240SX convertible in BC and am still the proud owner. Unfortunately, I recently got nailed by a hit and run artist and because of the "limited" status (only 1 model year and only 200 in Canada) it is difficult to acquire some OEM parts.

I am looking for the the insert strip that runs forward, from the passenger rear wheel well, that says LIMITED EDITION. White on black. Also the matching black insert that runs from the same wheel well back to the bumper.

The other missing pieces, which to me make this car unique, are the small glue on, metal "240 SX" between the tail lights just below the trunk lid.

I have tried searching through the archived threads but have come up empty on the topic.

Any help/direction would be really appreciated.

Thanks.

You can buy '240SX' emblem from a dealership. I believe that it's still available.

On the other hand, 'LIMITED EDITION' emblem is not. I tried to buy a set back in 1999 & 2000, but it was already out of production. Mine was in rough shape, so I made a template using a piece of paper and a pencil. Bought some white vinyl sheet from a sign shop and cut it myself. It turned out just like OEM emblem. I think I spend at least 4-5 hours to cut and apply them to the car. Someone's gotta mass produce this 'LIMITED EDITION' emblem. There's a lot of demand out there.

Hey 94_240sx, I've got a job for you..."mass produce this 'LIMITED EDITION' emblem. There's a lot of demand out there."...lol.

Nice work!!!

Thanks for the info and link. I'm not sure what is shown there is what I'm looking for. Seems they have the 240 SX decal and I'm looking for the individual silver letters and numbers.

I imagine that LIMITED EDITION emblem is just glued on so if I can find a wreck with a good one I figure some low intensity heat should get it off there.

That is what you need...if it's the 240sx that is between the rear tail lights...it's the 84815V in the link. That's the only place on an s13 that has 240sx on it. Call them if your not sure what to order...Courtesy Nissan will treat you right! Hope this helps.

It's "D" in the diagram.

If you give your car's VIN number or year, they should be able to find a right one for you. IIRC, $26.87 is the right one.

If you or anyone else can take a straight pic of the limited edition logo, I can trace it in vector format & get some quotes (unless we have a sponsor here doing graphics?).

I was just going to offer the same thing. We've got a vinyl plotter at work that I use to make all sorts of decals.

I just peeled mine off when I painted my vert.

I'm thinking about sending them into the dood who does vinyl stuff for us and having him make me a bunch?

I can send them out today if you guys think its a good idea

"I just peeled mine off when I painted my vert."

Did it just peel off, or did you need some heat and, did it come off in good enough condition to reattach it?

The actual words came off in perfect condition, no problems at all. Could definatly reuse them.

Used no heat at all. However, it was relatively cold when I did it (possibly made it less sticky?)

Just picked a corner with my finger and peeled it off.

I'd be down to buy a LIMITED EDITION sticker if anyone can get some made.

I'm painting my car before next spring and would like to throw those back on.
