Ok could it be "legally" considered a 240sx if you have a chassis of a 240sx and a body of a Skyline R32? This means an rb26dett motor an r32 exterior a 240sx dash and rhd with a 240sx chassis...

Something about this sounds weird but i just cant think of it cause its 3:01am

Basically i have money to but a r32 but i dont want to go through all that legal bull and i dont want it taken away..... Any ideas BESIDE moving to another country...

Well, the only parts of the exterior that will be an R32 will be the hood, fenders, and bumper. Unless you have someone that can cut out the rear unibody and weld in R32 parts, it's just going to be the front. The RB26 in an S chassis? Well, you're in Illinois, and unless they do smog checks in Chicago, I can't see it being a big problem.

Technically, as long as you keep the vin from the 240 and the info tag under the hood, then yes, it would still be considered a 240.

You're pretty intent on getting a Skyline, aren't you? What's the deal, man?

Well its just with an R32. Im the kinda guy that doesnt like to have the same things as other people but make what i have look really nice... Ive been a fan of the R32 for around 7 years now and i always wanted to get one but the budget wasnt always their and my focus shifted toward other cars but the GTR just came back into my mind and im more into it now than ever before..... If you know where im coming from...

So technically if i wanted to do the 240sx R32 thing what would i need to do like part wise would i need to get swaped over..? If that makes sense

Or...... Can i buy a GTR with it being state legal and store it at another location so every time homeland security comes around ill tell them its sold and they wont have evidence i have it still! Would that work?

Sounds like an expensive waste of time.

So, correct me if I'm wrong here, you want an R32 but dont want the hassle. Yet you want to take a 240sx and make it look like an R32 and have an RB? It'd probably be quicker, cheaper and easier to just import an R32. Not to mention, if were' talking Skyline GT-R as opposed to GTS-T, an R32 will handle better and probably be safer.

Pretty much, Personally i just dont wanna spend 28k on a GTR and have homeland security come to my home and take my car and leave me with nothing, Cause ive been hearing all the stories lately about seized cars even with state legal registration

But the other route would probably look horrible. Why not just drop in an RB and modify the 240 without trying to throw on some kit to make it look like an R32?

I've seen it done. A 240 with a full Skyline convertion, though I will admit it had to cost a ton. It was a head turner, don't get me wrong, but just getting an R had to be cheaper...
