240sx advice?

Hello guys, Im a noob when it comes to 240sx i need some advice and i have a few questions. So im suppose to buy a 240sx now that i just kinda switched from hondas to nissan. I have no idea what to look for on 240sx when buying them. Ive heard they rust like crazy.... where should i look? Also im looking at s13 hatches mainly ,would love a s14 but their kinda rare around here. Are they good cars? Reliable? and great project.? This car would be my main car so, id be daily driving and messing around with it 2... would that be safe? i also wanted to know about the years and models...89-90 have a pig nose and 91-94 dont but i seen some people that switch that and they also switch the whole front end to silvia does that jdm front end just bolt on? or do i have to do some welding ? just curious. Also what years are power windows and locks? !!! < i ask this becuz the cars im looking at are mostly 89-90 not 91+ and i really wanna know if there is any difference in performance or interrior ????? I know the pig nose thing is differnt .. but what else? Really i kinda just want advice on what to look for when i buy a 240sx, i dont wanna end up buying a lemon ^ if u can answer some of those questions that would be great 2. Pls dont flame me, i know im a noob at nissan lol.

for rust look everywhere!! under, up, and over, engine bay. check the hatch if it had a spoiler installed. the jdm silvia front end bolts on when all parts are acquired. also power accesories arent by years but by model. usually the se's tend to have them. the differernce of the pignose and "shark nose" is the engine. pignose has 15hp and 20 lbs/ft of torque less than the shark nose(91-94) yes they are great cars if they are treated right and no cheaped out on. so dont be cheap on it. buy quality. there are some diff's in the interior like gauge cluster's and power accesories and sun roofs. if you dont like it. buy the exact same part from the year you do want and you can change it accordingly. like dont want power options? change it to the non power by buying the parts. good luck on the buy. post pics whens it yours!

geez bro, check the tech section. this site is like an immense grimoir of nissan everythingisms.
imma help you a little to keep me from e-beating you.
ok,- look for rust under the car, frame rails etc. also check the wheel wells, engine bay for bubbles or the beginnings of rust. you really have to look, i was fooled before.
-if you cant choose between s13/s14 it doesnt matter, s13 type parts are easier to find used and it is very argueable which is better. 2 people will tell you 2 diff things. its personal preference.
-the s-chassis are great cras, they look good, they handle well, they have an extensive aftermarket and respond well to modification. ther are lots of motor choices for swaps, unlimited suspension parts from tons of companies in all price ranges, large engine bay, and are fairly easy to work on.
-most of the people here have theyre s car as a daily, some even drive heavily modified cras daily, usually the cali guys have the crazy low s***. but you can find examples of wild dailys anywhere. if they do it so can you.
-the big difference between the 89-90 to the 91and up s13 here in america is the motor, the early or zenki models have a sohc 2.4...the newer have dohc 2.4 both are KA24. KA24Ebeing the sohc, KA24DE being the dohc. nearly everything else is the same, the front ends will interchange, no welding needed.
-im pretty sure power options came on all models, so did non power windows etc. i prefer non power equip. but i have never owned one with no power options as far as windows mirrors etc.
-the performance between the 2 is about 10 hp/tq...there are pros and cons to both but most prefer the doch 91+
as far as buying a lemon? drive it check it out top to bottom, and feel the car, turn the radio off listen for noises, feel the clutch engage, feel for vibrations that seem out of place...its a mix of common sense and experience, reading posts here will help alot, as well as the tech section so i suggest you get to checkin it all out. and luck helps as well when buying a s chasis haha

^^^^ thanks guys lol u guys are way better then honda tech tahts for sure. And do any of the 89-90 models have power windows? its not a big deal to me its just if i wanna sell the car later on its gona be kinda hard. But i plan to make my car amazing so that shouldnt be a big deal. The motor isnt a problem eather once i gather like 3 gs ima deck it out lol.
also im looking at a car that it seems to keep staying in my mind more then the others. Its 90 hatch the head lights are circles kinda looks like an integra lights where the flip up lights should be. So it makes it seem pretty nice. He said that it has rust around the edge of the of the hatch where the glass is touching... im guessing it has more rust spots so im not 2 sure i havnt seen it yet tho

K i got a new car on the list now. Its a white 95 240sx .... Clean but has some dents here and there also SADLY!!! automatic. idk why they even make automatic cars U_U >.... Is this a big problem u think? I want my 240sx to drift and drag and fck around lol.auto matic is boring! are 5 speed swaps easy to do on s14? Are they cheap and easly done.. things easy to find>?
