I need to recharge my AC but the freon pressure is too low and the compressor cutoff kicks in. Does anyone know how I can bypass this? Maybe by tapping 12V directly into the compressor.

you shouldn't have to have the compressor on to refill it.... unless you are using a crappy autozone r-134a bottle. Find the clutch wire, tap into it, apply 12v to it so it engages, start engine.

however I would suggest getting it done professionally otherwise you may blow up your compressor. they are very very picky about how much oil goes through them.

I am using a crappy R-134 can. If I can find the 12V IN to the compressor (I don't have a schematic) I'll try it, otherwise I'll take the car in.

Thanks

you should take it in. they need to pull it into a vacuum. your compressor should remain off. the vacuum will pull refrigerent in and when theres a good amount of pressure, compressor will kick on
