240SX '94 auto transmission - car IMMEDIATELY lost any forward/reverse power

It was 06:00 Sunday morning, cold, dark, northern Virginia.

This was low speed, quiet, back road driving for just five miles from home. I pulled up to a stop light and the 240SX lost all forward power. I got it around the corner, but I had to call a tow. I had absolutely ZERO in reverse, drive, 1st or 2nd. Park and Neutral were fine..

I ran the code check where you put the shift in Drive, turn the OD on, and turn the key on. Then go down to 2nd, and 1st and the accelerator pedal and all that. I got a clean set of one long and ten short blinkings of the OD light. Nothing to report there.

Could it be something mechanical with the AT linkage?? I had the AT replaced a few months ago, and then installed another ATCU and ECU from another '94. It ran very righteously until that moment yesterday morning.

Still, here is an update...

My mechanic took the 240SX '94 for a quick test drive late Monday afternoon (yesterday) and it ran pefectly.

I mentioned that the 240SX lost forward / reverse movement after a short 5 mile drive, and he said he would take it out again today, for a longer test drive (I hope he is not planning to go to Orlando!!) and that he would be sure to be on top of the hill alongside his shop when the 240SX resurfaced the problem.

Well, if he does, I certainly will give him credit for correct anticipation. And when he tells me how he could determine that the 240SX would fail in enough time to get to the top of the hill so he could coast home, I will let the group know . . . [If there is anyone listening]

But does anyone have any ideas on why it failed on me on Sunday early morning??? After reading my previous post, too.

Nope. I just had the transmission replaced with another one.
