Alright, so I have ripped out the back seats to my 240sx hatch back, and I am basically looking to make the area from the back of the seats to the frame in the rear one solid level. I am also thinking while I am at it that I will have positions for two 12 inch subs (I know this will be over kill but I am doing it anyways). The subs will basically be set where the two seats in the back were.

My question is more over the materials I should use. I know to make the sub enclosure out of MDF, so should I make the rest of the platform out of it (home depo sheets aren't that pricey). I need it to be durable, and strong....

I will post pics once I start on this to keep the thread going.~Nick

any progress on this yet?

i was thinking about doing the same thing, except without any subs included. i just want to get rid of the back seat so i dont have to let anything sit back there anymore. the rear seatbelts are already removed and the floor bar will be added soon to get rid of any possible foot room in the back.

i was thinking about using MDF for strength as far as the frame goes, and then just some plywood over the top to keep it as light as possible. then of course, some black carpet to cover the entire area after the sound deadening is removed.

here is a picture of an s13 that i saw at NOPI in leicester, ny this summer. this is just an idea of what someone else has done. the silver oblong peice is the port and the sub was right behind the drivers seat i believe. the shape works out pretty well, although the placement of the amps isnt really my taste. i also think that it must be pretty heavy, but not much more than your average dual sub box. let me know what you think!

here they are. the body of the car looked pretty good. the painted peices in the interior are not to my taste, but i do like the steering wheel and bride seats. the car also had some nice suspension work done. the KA left something to be desired, however. it was the only 240 i saw at the show, aside from the real 180sx parked outside of the show. (dark purple, i also saw it at carlisle 06. beautiful car)
