240SX 1990 keep blowing meter fuse

the car is a coupe auto transmission it was converted to manual but it hasn't been used for all most 3 years and the meter fuse keeps blowing in one side of the fuse it has - current and my rev gauge doesn't work any ideas to where start testing circuit?

I had the same problem and found one of the ground wires on the back of the gauge cluster was powered. I had to cut the wire and ground the wire from the cluster to another known ground wire. I didn't have that problem till way after I did the manual trans swap. Never figured out what caused it but its been good ever since. On mine it popped the dimmer and running light fuse.
