240sx 1990 car running rough

I have a 1990 nissan 240sx the sparkplugs and dist cap has been replaced, the plugs are Bosch and the car seems to run hot after dirving for awhile. But no indicator light comes on. Also If anyone knows where the fuel filter is at with a photo, I need to replace that also. How could you tell if the waterpump is out. Just had to replace transmission in this car.

The fuel filter is located on the passenger's side of the engine compartment. It's attached to the strut tower. There's a hose coming out of the filter going up to the fuel rail.

Indications of water pump failures:- external leaks- water pump pulley wobbles
