I bought a new coupe almost a month ago and i have been wanting to boost it but with my hatch getting most of the attention money wise i was debating whether i should have both a single Ka-t and a dual cam ka-t i ended up going both ways(no ****) and the single cam turbo project has been put on the backburner for now. with this car(coupe) i have a budget to adhere to and so far i have stayed within boundaries pretty well.

Budget-300$Goals- to be in the 200hp range or close- nothing much expected just a little fun project to show that the truck motor kicks arse: )

Turbo- volvo/garrett t3 was rebuilt and used only 2-300 miles--had laying aroundXs-power t3/t4 manifold--50$spare oil pan-20$oil restrictor-20$oil feed line-had laying around oil return line- had stuff laying aroundcoolant lines for turbo-20$new oem clutch-lifetime warrenty-freez32 tt fuel filter-15$new ro 255lph fuel pump-40$fmu-70$knockoff BOV-had laying around-new though never used it hahasidemountintercooler and piping-had laying around-20$boost gauge+oil pressure gauge-had laying aroundoil sandwich plate-had laying aroundoem rod bearings-35$

heres a pic of some of the stuff. the car is a black 93 coupe with 202k miles on it. it is currently my dd and has been good to me since i have bought it. the previous owner took really good care of it by replacing the waterpump, thermostat, plugs wires, starter, alt and plenty of other little things so i am pretty sure that the motor is in healthy shape. i will be taking plenty of pics if the weather permits over the next couple of days. my plan is to have it running with boost before...if not on new years

The prices i listed above are estimated not exact i will list the total after all is said and done.

Man that is a tight budget. It should be interesting to see if you can keep within the $300 range.

it is completely do able, hell I think my extreme cheapo version could have been about 250. But that would neglect some seriously needed stuff.turbo 50manifold w/blown turbo, outlet d/p, test pipe and hot pipe for 50smic with piping and bov 50walbro 85few gauges and oil lines put me right at 250

Totally doable.

The KA can run 6 psi on the factory injectors alone if you retard the base timing and have a 255lph pump. The 4:1 FMU will keep you totally safe if running the stock injectors alone scares you.

11 is doable if you crank base pressure up to 75psi I would not tell you to do it. I am

stfu abou heat wrap, I just had a 50ft roll delivered today, and my buddy tells me he is getting 250foot of 4" wide aircraft grade oh well entire exhaust will get wrapped now 2.5d/p to 3" straight pipe back, as quiet as its got with the little pipe I've ran may go without a muffler all together

Not fan on the el cheapo setups... Since they are usually the ones that come back to the forum here complaining the engine burst into a million pieces because their FMU failed.
