Well after totaling my S14, I finally found a nice deal on another S13, which this will be my 4th 240sx. I got a good deal on this car, 1k on craigslist. Guy said it didnt run because the timing was off and he didnt know how to fix it, well he was right, one tooth off, and the cruise control cable was holding the throttle half way open. That explains why he could never figure it out, I had this car running within 4 hours of starting to work on it. Runs super smooth and the ac works. This will be a pretty slow build, I tend to take time on my builds and buy a few parts at a time and try to stay conservative on money. Build will be for street/drift. On to the car

1990 Nissan 240sx

-ka24e w/ brand new head, timing chain, head gasket, ect.

- cold air intake

- header, custom exhuast with borla muffler (not loud enough at all)

- aftermarket front sway bar, both strut bars

- Sportmax 962s staggered

- drop springs on kybs

What it looked like when I got it (stock struts on some brand of lowering springs)

What it looks like now with my 18s, kybs, and drop springs

Did some work and experimenting with the rear. Painted the hatch, the piece under the tails, and smoked the center. Looks better than the primer that was on there.

So this weekend I picked up a Silvia K's Front and a piggy lip. I got around to installing it all and got everything functioning on Sunday.

My body kit is molded in, so it made changing the fenders a little harder than normal. The drivers side was a real pain in the a** I had to use a cutting wheel and be very careful.

When it was finally loose from the fender, it pulled apart almost all the way down which I didnt want to happen. Probably gona end up using some epoxy to make sure it doesnt get ripped off.

Driver Fender installed

The passenger side skirt popped right off, no cutting required. But again, it came loose almost all the way down.

When installing the passenger side headlight bracket, one of the A/C mounting points was hitting it and keeping it from lining up. Nothing a cut-off wheel cant fix

With a little time and patience, you can make a piggy lip fit on the Silvia ks bumper nicely.

As for the wiring, I already had fog lights so I just taped my fog light wiring into the black and red wires on the silvia fog light harness. The running lights I tapped into the black and red wires that go to the turn signals, and they come on and stay on whenever the parking lights or lights are on, and they do not flash.

The only thing I am missing is the bulb connector for one of the headlights, it didnt come with it. Its the connector that the H1 bulb goes into so it has a 3 prong output to be plugged in. If anyone knows where I can find one please let me know! I have been searching with no luck.

Finished but unpainted

Update: 6/24/2011

Well I have been having cooling problems ever since I got this car running, first it was the thermostat. Fixed that and then I had a small hairline crack in the radiator, So I went and picked up a dual row aluminum Sr radiator with dual fans (I plan on doing SR swap thats why I went ahead and got an SR radiator)

The New Radiator

After installing the new radiator, I went less than one whole day before I had coolant leaking again!!! This time from my water pump!

Old Water Pump.... WTF?!?!

The difference

Now finally I have a decent cooling system that will stay cool!!

And for future reference, a SR radiator will work a ka24e, but their are issues

-You have to piece together two radiator hoses to make a cross pipe, I had to use to completely different radiator hoses I had laying around

-Your intake routing will not fit like its supposed to, and it will not go overtop of the radiator hose on the driver side

- You must go below the radiator hose, but then if you have a large cone filter it will hit the fender well, you must switch to a small style

For me this is only temporary until I get a SR put in, I would not recommend using a SR radiator on the KA unless you have rerouted your intake piping properly

Pics for reference
