240: 2.4l 155hp rwd sports coupeSpec-v: 2.5l extremely fun yet fwd ~160hp econobox. Did I mention it was extremely fun.

I love them both, but I'd keep my 240.

In a straight line the Spec V owns the 240sx.

Spec V makes 150whp and 160lb-ft at the wheels. (taken from 04 dynos) Previous years made slightly less due to a more sensitive knock sensor, and the engine wasn't equipped with a wideband O2 sensor present in the 04s.

Handling is okay, I think a stock 240 outhandles a Stock Spec V, but the HLSD holds grip like a mofo.

If I were to do it again, I'd get a S14 instead and work on it :) But there are alot of things I would of rather done, use the money for the spec v as a downpayment for a 350, s2k etc :)

Are there any torque steer issues with the spec?

The SPECV is a nice complete package everything under warranty also. And if it gets crashed or stolen you'll get more money.

if you're looking for more of a performer straight out of the box, the spec V is pretty great stock....then again I drive an S14 and wouldn't give it up for the wolrd ;]

AHAHAHAHAHA! You're funny. The Spec and the B14/15 SE-L/SE are notorious for torque steer... jebus it's bad. I've heard the LSD actually makes it worse... weird.

Anyways, I still wish I had an S14. I know my car isn't a Spec, but whatever. I still love the S14 and always will. I may indeed buy one as my project, my Sentra will be my daily beater now and forever (til it explodes, or I get mondo cash... or something... G35C, here I come!).

So............. even though it's an S13, I say keep the 240 and make it a beast. Then again, is this your daily or your project?

...word. Unless it's the new model but I don't like the face. I would keep the 240 just b/c it's rwd, but don't listen to me

Two totally different cars. What do you want? 4door? 2door? straight line power? to drift? to autox? sooo many possibilities.

Well, as far as I can see, both cars are good w/ auto-x, 240 can be made into a straight line monster, but why would you want to do that...? Spec gets the 4-dr discount from insurance tho...so take that into consideration.

if you allready own the 240 i would say stick with it rather then go head and pick up another bill. but thats YOUR decision you should think about it for a good long time before investing a great deal of money like that into anything

Insurance on that old of a car would be cheap I'm sure though, so this could be a huge factor. Keep the 240. This way you aren't in debt at all, you are just paying to maintain/upgrade, not payoff.

Just FYI insurance on my new $30k G35 went up $18/mo compared to my $4.5k 240sx. It is all about safety ratings, you know. I wanted something RWD and the only thing that was close to 240sx in fun level was a G35. Even IS300 wasn't that much fun.

Another thing to consider is warranty. My car might not ever brake but the piece of mind it gives is amazing.

if you have 8k to spend on the 240 then do that! i mean you can get a mean little sr going on for 8k... oh the drifting/racing possibilities.
