Hi everyone, I'm new to forum. Well, I have a friend who has a 350z that would always run his mouth on how his track model z would just cream my sr powered baby at the track. After back and forth s### talking and texting, the looser had to call the winner daddy for a whole day. So, pride definitely was on the line. Knowing the vq being more torqy, I knew I had to prepare. He went and bought a plenum spacer. Since he already has a nismo exhaust, I stepped up my game and went a whole week fixing my exhaust leak (Pain in the ###), vacuum leak and bushing kit (double pain in the ###). Once we were at the track, he seemed nervous because I had my bro's drag radials and I claimed to raise the boost at 10 psi, but in reality I was running 6psi. I Needed to know where I stand at stock boost. Ready to be up next, one lane gets closed down so we can't race heads up. After my first run, I get a 9.15 and he gets a 9.43. Trying desperate to break into the 8's on my second, I broke my u joints from the driveshaft because excitedly I dumped the clutch instead of feathering it. Rookie mistake. His second run was a 10.23, which is horrible. After having my friends push me off the track, I hade the biggest smile on my face. Yeah my car broke down but luckily I have AAA went home with a trophy in my hand (the driveshaft).

Moral of the story, 350z got owned and bragging rights go to me. He just didn't want to to me, his daddy.

qst. How fast should the 350z be at the 1/8 once he runs slicks?what do you guys think?

First off, misspelling Silvia detracts from it's pride... lol

It's not suprising to me that a stock SR powered s13 beat a stock Z with an exhaust. VQ's normally dyno at 240hp or so and weight 3300+ pounds.

Your 240 may be doing something like 190hp at the wheels if it's still stock and weighing in at under 2800 pounds.

So, I think this outcome is entirely possible considering the 500 lbs weight difference and the probable lake of driving skills from your homie. Might be different if you were against an actually good driver...

good to know, there are a few kids around here (and i mean kids, even though they are older than me [they are 22-26], I am a kid too and I won't hesitate to admit it) that run their mouths off because they paid way too much money for their 350zs. I ask them what they have done "just a k&n air filter" and they want to talk **** about my convertible and how it looks like ***.

i'm sorry I don't have to make a car payment and can dump that same amount into my cheap *** pos $3000 chassis and still destroy on the track. (Assuming they are paying like $230-250+ a month just to drive the car, not including insurance)

Did you ever take an english course at school? Your punctuation sucks. No they arent the same. One is right hand drive, one is not. Just because you have a sr swapped 240sx does not make it the same as a silvia, it makes it the same as a sr swapped 240sx.

damn son, what the hell.

this forum is turning into a place where people don't hesitate to turn their guns on their own.

chill the f*** out.

Also, I noticed no one gave him any good words for keeping his racing on the tracks instead of doing it on the streets.

I bet the outcome would have been completely different if this was 1/4 mile and even worse if you both had the same tires.

Ps I'm not one of those idiots that refer to the 240 as a Silvia.

So much negativity....

OP, Good job taking it to the track ^^. Did ya'll go to any public places where he could call you daddy and look like a dumb A-word(<< You like that?)? haha. I cant wait until i have an SR20

Guys who cares what someone calls their car? Every S-Chassis was made in the same series of places. Mainly made in japan, Some just got stuffed with different guts and interior for obvious laws. WHO CARES, Nobody is causing anyone harm by calling their car a "Sylvia".<<< Do fix that mistake though OP.

Who cares how well someone does or does not spell? (if you can't read it don't be mean about it) If you really want to correct someone be nice about it.

Who really cares what people call their cars. For all I care they can call their car sally.

350Z's really aren't all that fast. My buddy has one and we've ran our cars at the track before. I constantly run better times than he does.

"First off, misspelling Silvia detracts from it's pride... lol"- Ouch, didn't think I would get flammed because I think of my car as a sexy mexican spanish actress. But hey that's just me. I will soon post my slip and try to get my friends if he still has it.

As for pictures, I will also post some up. I was fixing the body but what's the point of making her sexy and messing it up at the track. I plan on getting her sideways. I'm just more into learning how to become a better driver and increasing the car's performance. Well, at least what my college budget allows me to have.

As for going out in public, we went out for some beers and f### yeah I rubbed it in his face. He say's "Well, we didn't really race each other because we weren't next to each other" and now he wants a rematch. So, I will give him his rematch and try to chatter his pride.

As for my sexy sylvia, which only a blind man like me would love, I had her on a tire pressure of 18psi on KDW's drag radials. So far I have a Stock turbo, exhaust manifold, apex dual exhaust, no test pipe, and an HKS air filter.

-Well, my friend went and bought drag radials for next weeks race. Believe it or not, he should be able to beat my time but we are both inexperienced to the 1/8 mile track. We had the same speed of 76 mph (tenth's of a second off or so), my reaction time and 60 foot was just better than his. If it were the 1/4 mile he would have probably taken me out.

I met a guy with a similar setup like yours Leroy Brown. He had a FMIC, tomei tunned computer at 12psi and 550cc injectors running on street tires running an 8.1.. That's quicker than a certain time a gtr had on the track.

I said what I meant and I meant what I said. His friend most likely has a lake or body of water that he pulls crappy driving skills from... duh!
