240 that dont smog?

So I am buying a 240sx s13 from my friend. He had a new KA dropped in. The guy that did the motor swapped asked him if he was going to smog the car. He said No. The guy didn't hook up any of the smog equipment.

What are the smog equipments that he didn't put in?Or what smog parts should I be looking for and installing?

I am trying to buy the car and be able to smog it. I don't know anyone who can pass it.

Anyone know smog guys in Sacramento?

You should need and EGR system and a Cat I don't know if there is more than that in California.

you could go and try to pass with just a cat installed but I'm pretty sure you need the EGR equipment.

legally to sell it he is responsible to make it pass.youll need a cat,egr system, auxilary air(pulse air), pcv,anything on the underhood label. or, you could call a smog shop or BAR ref center and they'll look up(some you may have to coax, i know at my shop thats atleast worth a cigerette) exactly what youll need. are you looking to have someone list what you need, or someone to hook everything up so itll pass legally?P.S.- im a smog tech that lives about 20 min north of you

yea the motor was hooked up like that so there is less restriction on the motor. wc240 i just emailed you. i dont think im going to go through the hassle and find the parts for emissions. i basicly just need someone to pass me here in sacramento. anyone know someone that can pass me?

Im sorry if i miss lead you by saying id help, let me clear that up....I am all for giving advise, or even consulting on laws, anything i can do, wether free or not, to pass smog, no problem. i will NOT cleanpipe a car. thats a felany and just not worth it to me. if your gonna trade/sell anything to this guy, make sure your coming up. such as your cars a POS that wont pass smog, so youll trade for a car that still doesnt pass. dont give em a legal car and get an illegal car. also think about this- most 240s running illegal have SR20, turbocharged fun, youll be running a stock KA, with less MPG and higher temps than a legal running KA. really worth it?any other help you need/questions you got, feel free to ask

#1-You should stop asking someone to do something illegal on a public forum.

#2-Are you willing to go through this hassle every 2 years to pass smog?

#3-Are you willing to have your car impounded or have massive citations when you get pulled over and the Police see that you have no emmissions equipment?

#4-Just have the car inspected to see what equipment is needed/missing, then evaluate from there.
