If you disconnect the hose that is below the fuel filter coming from the copper line, then you can turn the ignition switch to on and check for fuel that should squirt out. You don't necessarily have to try to start the car. Also make sure that the hose is wiped off and dry before you turn the key so that you can check for evidence of fuel. You can't be in the car turning the key and outside checking the hose at the same time, unless you have someone else helping you out. This should definitely tell you if it is the fuel pump. By the way, how do you go through that many fuel pumps?
