im afraid your transmission is on its way out.mine did the same thing and it ended up grinding gears then loosing gears..your input shaft bearings are going gout. or some bearing in the transmission.. eitherway your gonna need a new transmission sooner or later
and to the OPit sounds like your subframe bushings are shot.jack up the car and take a look at themif there in pretty bad shape then thats most likely your knocking problem.happens when you let off the gas, get on the gas hard, get on the break hard.. anything that will force the back end of the car to squat on the subframe or hit the subframe.. if your bushings are bad you'll get a knocking.
